The Phoenix Suns are piling up victories even without one of their prized offseason additions. Phoenix has captured 11 of its last 16 games and, at 25-17, is closing in on a top-six position in the Western Conference.
Guard Jalen Green, brought in during the summer, has yet to play a meaningful role this season. His absence has not gone unnoticed inside the locker room.
“We miss Jalen,” Devin Booker said after Saturday’s win over New York, noting Green’s ability to attack the rim and draw fouls—skills the Suns have been forced to replicate by committee. Teammate Grayson Allen added that Green’s return would give the club another creator capable of collapsing defenses and freeing teammates.
That return could arrive soon. According to the Arizona Republic, Green is listed as questionable for Monday night’s matchup with the Brooklyn Nets. Interim head coach Jordan Ott sounded optimistic after the morning shootaround, saying the guard’s recent five-on-five sessions went smoothly.
Booker hinted that the team may have erred on the side of caution. “He’s been licking his chops,” the All-Star guard said. “We’ve probably kept him out a little longer than necessary.”
While the Suns have generated momentum without Green, adding another downhill scorer would further deepen an offense already featuring Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. For now, Phoenix continues to win as it waits for a full roster.
