The New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers will both regain key veterans tonight.
Knicks guard/forward Landry Shamet, sidelined since November 22 with a right shoulder injury, was upgraded from questionable to available for New York’s road game against the Golden State Warriors. Head coach Mike Brown confirmed earlier in the week that the 28-year-old had cleared full-contact drills. Before the injury, Shamet averaged 9.3 points in 20.9 minutes over 15 appearances, shooting 42.4% from three-point range in his second season with the club.
New York will still be without starting point guard Jalen Brunson, who is listed as day-to-day after spraining his right ankle early in Wednesday’s loss at Sacramento.
In Portland, forward Jerami Grant will return from a 14-game absence caused by left Achilles tendinitis. Head coach Tiago Splitter said the 31-year-old will come off the bench on a minutes limit when the Blazers host the Atlanta Hawks. Grant opened the 2025-26 campaign with averages of 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting .436 from the field and .389 from deep across 26 games (14 starts, 30.3 minutes).
Splitter added that forward Deni Avdija remains out for a second straight game with lower back soreness but is improving and considered day-to-day.
