James Harden added another historic line to his résumé on Jan. 13, 2026, moving past Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal on the NBA’s career scoring chart.
The veteran guard surpassed the former Los Angeles Lakers center during Tuesday’s game, becoming the latest player to climb the league’s all-time leaderboard.
O’Neal, a four-time NBA champion and three-time Finals MVP, retired in 2011 and had held his spot on the list for more than a decade before Harden’s milestone bucket.
Harden’s achievement pushes him one step closer to the exclusive upper tier of the NBA’s greatest scorers as the season continues.
