Washington, D.C., Jan. 9, 2026 — The Washington Wizards have obtained All-Star guard Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks in a mid-season trade finalized today.
In exchange, Atlanta receives veteran guard CJ McCollum and forward Corey Kispert.
The move marks the first reported player exchange of the 2025-26 NBA regular season. Both clubs completed the transaction on Jan. 9, with Washington adding Young to its backcourt and Atlanta bolstering its roster with McCollum’s scoring and Kispert’s perimeter shooting.
