Peyton Watson, Scottie Barnes Earn NBA Player of the Week Honors

Denver Nuggets wing Peyton Watson and Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes have been named the NBA’s Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, respectively, NBA Communications announced Monday.
Watson guided an injury-hit Nuggets squad to a 3-1 record during the period, averaging 24.5 points and 8.0 rebounds while converting 70 percent of his three-point attempts.
Barnes helped the Raptors match that 3-1 mark, posting 22.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. It is the second time in his career he has collected the weekly honor.
Other Western Conference nominees included Deni Avdija (Trail Blazers), Devin Booker (Suns), Anthony Edwards (Timberwolves), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Thunder) and Kawhi Leonard (Clippers). Eastern Conference nominees were Jalen Brunson (Knicks), Joel Embiid (76ers), Darius Garland (Cavaliers), Jalen Johnson (Hawks) and Andrew Nembhard (Pacers).
