Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert has been handed a one-game suspension for accumulating too many flagrant fouls this season, the NBA announced Monday.

Gobert will serve the penalty Tuesday when the Timberwolves visit the Milwaukee Bucks.

The league’s decision follows a flagrant foul 1 assessed to Gobert in the fourth quarter of Minnesota’s 104-103 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. That infraction raised his season total to six flagrant-foul points. Under NBA rules, any player whose tally surpasses five is automatically suspended for one game.

The 31-year-old center, acquired by Minnesota before the 2024-25 season, is averaging 13.6 points, 12.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks through 37 games.
