Cam Thomas Considering Two Nets Offers

Restricted free agent guard Cam Thomas is still deciding whether to sign his $6 million qualifying offer or agree to a two-year contract from the Brooklyn Nets that would pay about $14 million annually, NBA insider Jake Fischer said Wednesday during a Bleacher Report live stream. Only the first year of the proposed two-year deal is guaranteed; the second season carries a team option.

According to league sources who spoke with Kurt Helin of NBC Sports, Thomas might be more inclined to take a two-year pact if the total value approached the $45 million offer Golden State reportedly made to Jonathan Kuminga. Helin suggested the sides could settle on a compromise, such as a player option or a partial guarantee for the second year.

Kings Remain Lone Suitor for Russell Westbrook

The Sacramento Kings are the only team showing serious interest in free-agent guard Russell Westbrook, Fischer added in the same broadcast. Sacramento is expected to evaluate other roster moves before deciding whether to bring in the 36-year-old former MVP.

Potential Landing Spots for Ben Simmons

Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report outlined four possible destinations for Ben Simmons, listing the Kings, New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors among the options.

While New York and Simmons share mutual interest, Ian Begley of SNY.tv said Tuesday on The Putback that the 29-year-old forward may ultimately join another club.

Knicks Eye Landry Shamet; Brogdon Would Require Trade

New York has room below the second-apron hard cap to sign only one veteran to a minimum contract, and Begley believes that spot could go to guard Landry Shamet. The Knicks have also expressed interest in Malcolm Brogdon, but bringing in both Brogdon and another free agent would likely necessitate a trade.
