Jan. 9, 2026 — A new Friday check of the NBA landscape highlights several players whose fantasy value is climbing and a handful headed the other way. The latest assessment looks at production over the past two weeks and current roster rates in ESPN leagues.
Risers
Michael Porter Jr., SF/PF, Brooklyn Nets (96% rostered)
Porter is averaging 28.9 points on 52% shooting, 90% from the foul line, 4.9 threes, 8.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 35 minutes. Although injuries remain a concern and Brooklyn sits 11-23, his recent output is carrying fantasy lineups.
Derrick White, PG/SG, Boston Celtics (96%)
White has put up 18.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.6 threes, 1.9 steals and 2.4 blocks. A 39% field-goal mark is the lone blemish, mitigated by 93% free-throw accuracy.
Ryan Rollins, PG/SG, Milwaukee Bucks (87%)
Overshadowed by Kevin Porter Jr., Rollins is still producing 17.0 points, 3.3 threes, 5.4 boards, 5.1 assists, 1.6 steals and 50% shooting. There is no indication the pace will slow.
Deni Avdija, SF/PF, Portland Trail Blazers (97%)
Serving as interim point guard, Avdija averages 29.3 points, 2.4 threes, 7.9 rebounds, 8.6 assists, 1.0 steal and 0.6 blocks while shooting 49%. With Portland ninth in the West, his role appears safe until injured guards return.
Kel’el Ware, C, Miami Heat (75%)
In 28 minutes a night, Ware posts 12.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.0 steal, 1.0 block, 1.3 threes, 53% from the field and 83% at the line. A heavier workload could unlock bigger numbers.
Matas Buzelis, SF/PF, Chicago Bulls (60%)
After four straight games of 30-plus minutes, the rookie is at 21.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.8 blocks and 2.8 threes, though he is shooting 41% overall and 74% on free throws.
Bilal Coulibaly, SG/SF, Washington Wizards (15%)
Coulibaly averages 13.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.1 steals, 1.0 block and 1.0 three on 43% shooting, with 81% from the stripe. Trae Young’s injury and CJ McCollum’s departure could expand his opportunities.
Fallers
Myles Turner, C, Milwaukee Bucks (83% rostered)
Turner is down to 12.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.4 steals, 0.4 blocks and 2.3 threes, shooting 38% in December and 36% through three January games.
Ja Morant, PG, Memphis Grizzlies (93%)
A calf injury has sidelined Morant for four straight contests. In the four games he did play over the last two weeks, he averaged 23.5 points, 7.8 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.8 threes and 2.3 rebounds. Memphis is 10th in the West.
Paul George, SF/PF, Philadelphia 76ers (75%)
George has produced 14.9 points on 41% shooting across seven games, with 2.9 threes, 5.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 blocks. Kelly Oubre Jr.’s return adds competition for touches.
Jalen Williams, SF/PF/C, Oklahoma City Thunder (98%)
Since returning from a wrist injury, Williams is at 16.4 points, 0.4 threes, 5.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.1 blocks on 47% shooting. Oklahoma City’s 31-7 record allows the club to limit his usage.
Mark Williams, C, Phoenix Suns (68%)
Over seven outings, Williams logs 10.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks in 22 minutes. Expectations of 15-10 with multiple blocks have yet to materialize.
DeMar DeRozan, SF/PF, Sacramento Kings (96%)
Trade rumors and Russell Westbrook’s arrival coincide with DeRozan’s 15.6 points, 0.7 threes, 4.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.4 steals on 43% shooting during his past seven games.
Cam Spencer, PG/SG, Memphis Grizzlies (21%)
Spencer’s output has slipped to 11.3 points on 44% shooting over two weeks, along with 1.7 threes, 3.4 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 0.9 steals. His role may change again once Ty Jerome returns.
