The Brooklyn Nets will keep guard Tyrese Martin and forward Jalen Wilson on the roster through this week’s salary guarantee deadline, league sources told The New York Post and HoopsHype.

Both players are on non-guaranteed deals, meaning Brooklyn could have avoided paying their full 2025-26 salaries by placing either on waivers before Wednesday’s cutoff. By standing pat, the club locks in Martin’s $2,191,897 contract and Wilson’s $2,221,677 contract for the remainder of the season.

Martin, 26, was drafted in the second round out of UConn and joined Brooklyn on a two-way pact before the 2024-25 campaign. He earned a standard roster spot last February and averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 60 games (11 starts) last season while shooting .406 from the field and .351 from three. Through 29 appearances (six starts) this season, the wing is posting 7.4 points and 3.0 boards on .385/.322/.708 shooting.

Wilson, 25, entered the league as the 51st overall pick in 2023 and likewise began on a two-way contract before moving to the standard roster in March 2024. The 6-foot-8 forward logged 25.7 minutes per contest and started 22 of 79 games in 2024-25. His role has shrunk in 2025-26; he is averaging 13.9 minutes, 4.9 points and 1.0 rebound over 23 games off the bench.

Brooklyn’s decision leaves the 15-man roster intact while preserving more than $15 million in cap space—flexibility the front office could use to absorb salary ahead of the trade deadline. If Martin and Wilson finish their current deals, both will become restricted free agents in the 2026 offseason.
