NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal has offered assistance to Jordan Wilmore, a 7-foot-3 police academy hopeful who fell one point short of passing his entrance exam, jeopardizing his bid to become the tallest officer in Texas.

The New York Post reported that Wilmore narrowly missed the required score on the test, prompting O’Neal to reach out and help the towering recruit prepare for another attempt. Details of the support were not disclosed, but the former Los Angeles Lakers star’s involvement aims to give Wilmore the edge he needs to clear the final hurdle.

If successful, the 23-year-old candidate would stand as the tallest law-enforcement officer in the state, surpassing current height records and adding a unique presence to the Texas police ranks.

No date has been set for Wilmore’s next examination, but O’Neal’s backing is expected to continue until the aspiring officer can retake the test.
