NEW YORK — Center Karl-Anthony Towns leads the NBA in offensive fouls drawn against him, a trend that has repeatedly pushed him to the bench and disrupted the Knicks’ offensive flow.

“I’m going to keep doing my thing,” Towns said, according to the New York Post. “Maybe I’ll have to change my game up a little bit, if that’s what they’re trying to tell me I need to do.”

The 28-year-old remains intent on playing aggressively, yet acknowledged he may have to tweak his approach to stay on the floor and avoid early foul trouble.

Kolek Seizes First Real Minutes

Rookie guard Tyler Kolek entered the rotation after Miles McBride was ruled out, receiving word from assistant coach Rick Brunson moments before checking in. Coaches have urged the left-hander to model his game after Pacers veteran T.J. McConnell — emphasizing poise, ball security and on-ball pressure.

Head coach Mike Brown said the directive is straightforward: rely on “skill, feel and toughness,” especially on the defensive end. Although Kolek’s court time remains limited, Brown trusted him in late-game situations.

McCullar Makes Immediate Impact

Saturday’s home win over Atlanta showcased forward Kevin McCullar Jr. After totaling fewer than six minutes all season, the rookie produced 13 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in 23:05. He went 3-for-6 from three-point range and held Trae Young scoreless as the primary defender, per the New York Post.

Brown admitted McCullar was slated for spot duty but said, “He earned every extra minute.”

Road-Heavy Schedule Looms

The Knicks will play eight of their next 11 games away from Madison Square Garden, Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News reported. New York is 5-7 on the road and already shorthanded, with McBride, Josh Hart and Landry Shamet dealing with injuries.

With depth tested and foul issues persisting, availability and discipline could decide the coming stretch.
