The NBA on Sunday night issued suspensions to New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado and Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams for their involvement in a fight during Saturday’s game between the two clubs.

Alvarado received a two-game ban without pay, while Williams was suspended for one game. Both players were ejected in the third quarter after Alvarado committed a hard foul, prompting Williams to shove him and igniting a brief skirmish that drew in teammates and officials.

According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the penalties will cost Alvarado approximately $62,000 in lost salary and Williams about $36,000.

Phoenix won the contest 123-114 behind 20 points from Devin Booker.

Alvarado will sit out the Pelicans’ games on Monday against the New York Knicks and Wednesday versus the Chicago Bulls. Williams will miss the Suns’ matchup with the Washington Wizards on Monday night.
