Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are exploring ways to bolster their frontcourt while center Jakob Poeltl continues to deal with back issues, according to Sportsnet’s Michael Grange. Rather than chasing a high-profile name such as Anthony Davis—who is not expected to be moved—management is focused on securing a reliable backup big man through trade or free agency.

Grange mentioned veteran center Mo Bamba, currently in the G League, as a potential 10-day signing later in the season. Additional shooting is also on Toronto’s radar; The Athletic’s Eric Koreen listed Quentin Grimes, Keon Ellis, and Collin Sexton as wing targets who could become available.

Trail Blazers

Portland forward Jerami Grant missed his third consecutive game Tuesday, and the team has updated his status from left Achilles soreness to left Achilles tendinitis, Sean Highkin of Rose Garden Report noted. Grant has been viewed league-wide as a possible midseason trade piece, making the injury designation significant as the deadline approaches.

Thunder

After a blistering 24-1 start, Oklahoma City has dropped three of its last five contests, yet Sports Illustrated’s Rylan Stiles reports the Thunder are expected to stay the course at the trade deadline. The organization prefers internal development over marginal roster tweaks, with guard Ajay Mitchell adjusting to his role and forward Jalen Williams working back from offseason wrist surgery.
