Bucks reportedly eye Jerami Grant; Cavs and Bulls weigh smaller trade options

Dec. — The Milwaukee Bucks are actively seeking an in-season trade to bolster the roster around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Myles Turner, according to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel.
Bucks focus on Portland pieces
Multiple executives at the NBA G League Winter Showcase said Portland forward Jerami Grant was the name most frequently tied to Milwaukee. Some league personnel also speculated the Bucks could attempt to acquire both Grant and center Robert Williams III from the Trail Blazers.
Siegel reported that a theoretical package could be constructed around Kyle Kuzma, Bobby Portis and an additional contract. Williams’ injury history, however, has been cited as a concern for a win-now team.
Outside of Portland, Milwaukee is still monitoring Andrew Wiggins of the Warriors and Corey Kispert of the Wizards. Kispert is shooting 40.3 percent from three-point range this season while logging a career-low 19.9 minutes per game.
Cavaliers expected to tweak, not overhaul
Sources told Siegel that the Cleveland Cavaliers are not preparing for a major shake-up before the deadline. While core pieces appear safe, forwards De’Andre Hunter and Dean Wade were identified as players to watch.
Houston previously showed interest in Wade prior to signing Dorian Finney-Smith in free agency, and Cleveland could still explore marginal moves if an opportunity arises.
Active market for Bulls guard Coby White
At least six teams have asked about Coby White, Siegel reported, with executives pointing to the Magic, Hawks and Cavaliers as possible bidders.
Orlando is believed to be searching for additional scoring and has discussed a framework featuring Jonathan Isaac and second-round picks. The Chicago Bulls, however, are hoping to secure at least one unprotected first-round selection for White.
While Chicago could likely obtain a 2026 first-rounder from a playoff team, landing a pick with lottery potential may be difficult. White is not expected to sign an extension before reaching unrestricted free agency.
