Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was thrown out early in the second quarter Saturday night after receiving two quick technical fouls during a 119-116 home victory over the Phoenix Suns.
The incident occurred at Chase Center with 10:45 remaining in the period. Green blocked Suns guard Collin Gillespie, and the two exchanged words as play moved upcourt. Seconds later, as Stephen Curry sank a transition three-pointer at the 10:39 mark, Green collided forcefully with Gillespie. Referee Pat Fraher whistled the first technical foul for the shove.
Visibly upset, Green mocked the technical signal, then trailed Fraher toward the scorer’s table while shouting. The continued protest drew a second technical, leading to an ejection. Team security escorted the 35-year-old forward to the locker room.
The dismissal was Green’s first of the 2025-26 season and the 21st of his regular-season career. His absence left the struggling Warriors—losers of nine of their previous 14—without their starting power forward and defensive leader for the final three quarters.
Despite the setback, Golden State regrouped after halftime, overcoming Phoenix to secure the three-point win.
