CLEVELAND — NBA official Tre Maddox left Friday night’s matchup between the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers after hurting his leg near the end of the first quarter on Dec. 19, 2025.

The 58-year-old referee was running toward the sideline during a break in play when he fell and appeared to roll his ankle. He was assisted to the officials’ locker room and could not put weight on the injured leg.

Now in his 15th NBA season, Maddox worked the 2025 All-Star Game in San Francisco. Following his exit, the game proceeded with a two-man crew of Ray Acosta and Phenizee Ransom.
