Dallas rookie Cooper Flagg delivered the highest-scoring game ever by a player under 19, but the Mavericks still fell to the Jazz, 140-133, in overtime Monday night in Salt Lake City.

Mavericks

The 18-year-old forward poured in 42 points, surpassing LeBron James’s 2003 mark of 37 for the most points by a teenager. Flagg also became only the third player under 20 to post at least 40 points, five rebounds, and five assists in an NBA game. His final line: seven rebounds, six assists, two blocks, and one steal.

Flagg is averaging 25.7 points over his last seven contests while filling a larger offensive role with Anthony Davis sidelined and Dallas shorthanded. Head coach Jason Kidd praised the rookie’s rapid development, and teammates said Utah was eventually forced to double-team him. Afterward, Flagg pointed to late turnovers and missed opportunities in overtime as areas the club must correct.

Heat

Nikola Jovic exited Miami’s matchup with Toronto seconds after checking in, landing hard on his right elbow during a fast-break dunk attempt. Initial X-rays were negative, and an MRI is scheduled, Associated Press reporter Tim Reynolds noted. Jovic, 22, is averaging 7.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in a limited role this season.

Pistons

Despite recent speculation, league sources told The Athletic’s Hunter Patterson that Anthony Davis is not a trade target for Detroit. The Pistons, now 21-5 after a road victory in Boston, remain focused on internal growth and are considered unlikely to pursue a blockbuster deal before the deadline. Team executives have said they will stay opportunistic but are content with the current roster.
