MINNEAPOLIS — Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine left Sunday night’s road game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after spraining his left ankle midway through the second quarter and did not return.

LaVine, in his 12th NBA season and averaging 20.6 points, landed awkwardly on a drive to the basket. He completed the play for a three-point conversion but remained on the floor, moving cautiously for roughly three minutes before heading to the locker room for further evaluation. The Kings later ruled him out for the remainder of the contest.

Minnesota went on to claim a 117-103 victory.

Sacramento’s injury list already includes three-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis, sidelined nearly a month with a partially torn meniscus in his left knee, and center Drew Eubanks, who broke his left thumb Thursday in Denver. Veteran point guard Dennis Schroder returned to action Sunday after missing seven games with a hip injury.
