Atlanta — The Atlanta Hawks have given YouTuber and Twitch personality Davis Dodds full run of State Farm Arena for a continuous 24-hour livestream tied to the club’s 2025-26 schedule release.
The broadcast began at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday. NBA rules allow teams to publish their schedules at 3:15 p.m. ET Thursday, meaning Dodds will be roughly 21 hours into the stream when Atlanta’s slate is unveiled.
First NBA schedule reveal of its kind
According to the Hawks, this is the league’s first collaboration with an online creator on an all-day streaming platform. Team chief executive Steve Koonin formally “handed over” the arena to Dodds at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday before staff members from the organization’s social media, marketing and security groups moved to supporting roles.
“He’ll feel like the kid from ‘Home Alone’ in a giant arena at four in the morning,” Koonin said, noting that club personnel will remain on site to supervise.
Loose agenda, celebrity drop-ins
Dodds, 25, plans a flexible program that includes basketball challenges, a dunk contest and music sessions. Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz is scheduled to visit and record a track, while the Hawks have teased additional surprises.
A makeshift bedroom sits behind one basket so the streamer can sleep on camera. “I’m a little freaked out about sleeping in the arena,” Hawks director of social media Katie DuPre admitted, “but it’ll be a cool story.”
Creator with local roots
Raised in Atlanta, Dodds has more than one million YouTube subscribers, 700,000 Instagram followers and passed 10,000 Twitch subscribers last month. He is a member of the AMP content collective alongside internet star Kai Cenat.
The streamer’s familiarity with State Farm Arena extends beyond fandom; last year he rented the building to film the music video for his single “4 U” featuring T-Pain.
How the idea formed
During a July 29 Twitch session, Dodds promised viewers a 24-hour stream once he reached 10,000 subscribers and immediately proposed the arena as the venue. Koonin recalled responding without hesitation: “Let’s do it.” Initial talks centered on a 90-second schedule video, but the Hawks opted to expand the concept into a day-long event.
Production details
Dodds has access to the locker room for music production and to premium club areas for snacks. While concession stands remain closed, DuPre said “a lot of food” will be delivered, including Chick-fil-A breakfast.
The Hawks’ social media staff is treating the broadcast like a live game, clipping highlights to distribute across platforms as they aim to connect with younger fans. Schedule information will drop gradually during the stream through clues and on-screen reveals.
“He’s true to Atlanta like us,” DuPre said. “His audience is perfect for reaching the next generation.”
