The Golden State Warriors have released forward Jackson Rowe and will fill the newly opened two-way slot with guard LJ Cryer, the team announced.
NBA insider Marc Stein first reported the decision to waive Rowe, while HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto noted the franchise’s plan to re-sign Cryer.
Cryer, 24, spent training camp and preseason with Golden State, earning attention after averaging 9.2 points and 2.8 assists in Summer League while shooting 50 percent from the field and 42 percent from beyond the arc. In limited preseason action, he added five points in just under 10 minutes per game.
The guard has continued his strong play with Santa Cruz in the NBA G League Tip-Off Tournament, posting 24.3 points, 6.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds per outing, while hitting 5.1 three-pointers a night at a 41 percent clip.
Rowe departs after two seasons split between Santa Cruz and Golden State. The forward appeared in six NBA games last year and is averaging 16.3 points and 7.9 rebounds for Santa Cruz in the 2024-25 G League campaign.
