The Cleveland Cavaliers announced multiple front-court injuries on Saturday, further thinning a roster already battling absences.

Three Players on the Injury Report

Larry Nance Jr. underwent an MRI that revealed a Grade 1 strain of his right calf (soleus). The forward, hurt during Friday night’s loss in Atlanta, is expected to be out three to four weeks. In 16 appearances this season, the Akron native has averaged 3.6 points and 2.8 rebounds across 15 minutes per game.

Jarrett Allen will sit at least one week because of a right finger strain. The center missed three contests before logging 28 minutes against the Hawks and is now projected to remain out for approximately five more games. The earliest target date for his return is Dec. 12 at Washington.

Sam Merrill remains day-to-day with a right hand sprain. The guard has been sidelined for five straight games but was shooting 44 percent from three and scoring 13.9 points per night prior to the injury. Merrill signed a four-year, $38 million contract earlier this year.

With December just under way, Cleveland’s depth will once again be tested as it navigates a congested Eastern Conference schedule.
