Veteran forward DeMar DeRozan is considered the most attainable of the Sacramento Kings’ three high-profile trade candidates ahead of the NBA’s Feb. 5 deadline, league sources told Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
DeRozan’s contract—$24.6 million this season with a $10 million partial guarantee on a $25.7 million salary for 2026-27—makes him easier to absorb than deals held by teammates Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis. LaVine earns $47.5 million this year and holds a $49 million player option for 2026-27, while Sabonis is owed $94 million over the two seasons following a $42.3 million payout in 2025-26.
The Bucks, Clippers, Heat, Trail Blazers and Grizzlies are among the clubs monitoring DeRozan’s situation, according to the report. Siegel did not specify whether any of those teams have made formal inquiries.
Sabonis’ health to shape his market
Sabonis is currently sidelined by a meniscus tear and is not expected to begin on-court work until around Christmas. Rival executives are expected to wait for a clean bill of health before pursuing the Kings center.
Timberwolves willing to “sell high” on Randle
Siegel reports “a growing sense” that the Timberwolves would consider moving forward Julius Randle if the right offer emerges. Minnesota continues to search for a point guard and has checked on Ja Morant and Darius Garland over the past year, but its shortage of tradable first-round picks complicates major transactions.
Claxton draws interest; Warriors linked
Nets center Nic Claxton has surfaced in trade chatter and is viewed by some around the league as a potential target for the Warriors, Siegel writes. Brooklyn showed no interest in acquiring Jonathan Kuminga when the forward was a restricted free agent last summer, suggesting he is unlikely to headline any package for Claxton. The Lakers have also tracked Claxton since last season.
Pacers keeping tabs on Kuminga
The Pacers have quietly scouted Kuminga since the start of last season and could explore a deal involving guard Bennedict Mathurin, according to the report. League sources believe Indiana may entertain offers for Mathurin, Jarace Walker or Obi Toppin to manage future salary commitments.
Golden State eyeing versatile Pelicans wings
Golden State is also known to have interest in Trey Murphy III and Herbert Jones and is expected to reach out to the Pelicans during the season. It remains unclear whether New Orleans would consider moving either player.
Price tag set for possible Wiggins deal
If the Heat elect to move Andrew Wiggins, they would seek a first-round pick plus one or two rotation-ready players, Siegel reports. The Lakers and Bucks expressed interest during the offseason, but Miami has held no substantive talks recently regarding the veteran forward.
The trade landscape is expected to shift as the deadline approaches, with health updates and team needs dictating which of these names ultimately change addresses.
