Brooklyn forward Noah Clowney reached a personal best on Monday, pouring in 31 points and hitting 7-of-13 from beyond the arc in his 11th straight start against New York. Despite the Nets’ 13-point defeat, the club outscored the Knicks by one during Clowney’s 39 minutes on the floor.

According to The New York Post, the 21-year-old has shown the most noticeable improvement among Brooklyn’s five recent first-rounders. Since joining the starting lineup, Clowney is averaging 16.5 points while converting 36.8% of his three-pointers, positioning himself for a rookie-scale extension in the 2026 offseason.

Rotation shake-up for Ziaire Williams

Ziaire Williams, who re-signed on a short-term contract over the summer, logged 23.1 minutes per game across his first 14 appearances but did not play Monday. Head coach Jordi Fernandez said the decision was meant to spark Williams’ defensive intensity, noting a drop-off in ball pressure, deflections and pick-and-roll coverage.

Traore shines with Long Island Nets

First-year guard Nolan Traore capitalized on expanded G League minutes, totaling 43 points and 18 assists in back-to-back contests against the Greensboro Swarm. He shot 50% from deep (9-for-18), committed only four turnovers and helped Long Island outscore Greensboro by 25 during his 68 minutes. Fernandez cited the rookie’s shot selection and assist-to-turnover ratio as encouraging signs.

Martin making case on non-guaranteed deal

Third-year guard Tyrese Martin, one of two Nets on non-guaranteed contracts, has averaged 13.6 points and 3.6 assists on .500/.440/.786 shooting over his last five games after struggling early. Fernandez called him “a star in his role,” praising his steady approach and leadership.

The Nets continue a season defined by the progression of their young roster, with Clowney’s breakout performance setting the tone for a group seeking consistency at both NBA and G League levels.
