Milwaukee — Bucks guard Kevin Porter Jr. has intensified rehabilitation on his surgically repaired right knee and remains on schedule to rejoin the lineup in early December, head coach Doc Rivers said Wednesday.

“Yeah, I think right on track,” Rivers told reporters, adding that Porter participated in a non-contact “skeleton” workout and “looked good.” The coach also noted a noticeable uptick in the 25-year-old’s energy level since he resumed on-court activity.

Porter underwent meniscus surgery earlier this month, marking the first operation of his career. “Two weeks ago Monday I woke up and couldn’t walk,” he said. “I was on crutches for the first time, so of course my energy was a little low. But being able to walk, sleep normally and get back to daily routines is uplifting.”

The fourth-year guard detailed his current workload: “Just stationary shots, moving shots. I did a lot of moving today. Today was the best day so far for movement and cardio, and now I’m trying to get my body back active.”

Porter has appeared in only one game this season, scoring 10 points in nine minutes. Milwaukee has opened the campaign 8–7.
