Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. will be sidelined for a minimum of two weeks after an MRI revealed a lateral collateral ligament sprain in his left knee, according to Tony Jones of The Athletic.

The exact nature of the injury had been unclear until the testing results were disclosed. Team sentiment had reportedly been pessimistic, but the initial two-week timetable suggests Oubre avoided a more serious setback. The club plans to re-evaluate him after the two-week mark.

Oubre sat out Sunday’s victory over the Los Angeles Clippers after leaving last Friday’s contest against the Detroit Pistons just 15 minutes into the game. The 28-year-old is averaging 16.8 points in a career-high 34.8 minutes per night, marking his most productive scoring season since 2022/23.

Philadelphia has faced a lengthy injury list throughout the year but recently integrated Paul George back into the rotation following his offseason knee surgery. In the meantime, forward Trendon Watford has earned an expanded role, logging 21.3 minutes per game and shooting 41.7% from three-point range, both personal bests.
