The Los Angeles Lakers upgraded Gabe Vincent (left ankle sprain) to available after he completed Tuesday morning’s shootaround, marking his first game-ready designation since October 26. LeBron James, sidelined since opening night by right-side sciatica, will be a game-time decision when the Lakers host the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night.
James practiced Monday and told reporters his conditioning and voice still need work. “I’ve got to get my lungs back up to a grown man,” he said, noting that sciatica previously bothered him two years ago. The 40-year-old is beginning his record-setting 23rd NBA season.
Warriors
The NBA issued a warning, but no fine, to Draymond Green following a face-to-face exchange with a fan in New Orleans on Sunday. Green said the spectator repeatedly called him “a woman,” adding, “It was a good joke at first, but you can’t keep calling me a woman.”
Forward Jonathan Kuminga (bilateral patellar tendonitis) will miss his third straight game Tuesday in Orlando. Team evaluations show no structural damage, and the absence is expected to be short-term.
Trail Blazers
Jrue Holiday sat out Sunday’s loss to Dallas and is listed as doubtful for Tuesday’s meeting with Phoenix because of right calf soreness. With several Portland point guards already injured, forward Deni Avdija said Holiday’s absence was “definitely felt,” calling him the club’s on-court leader.
Two-Way Deals
The Memphis Grizzlies signed Jahmai Mashack to a two-year two-way contract. The Phoenix Suns completed a rest-of-season two-way agreement with Jamaree Bouyea; league rules bar a longer term because this is Bouyea’s fourth NBA campaign.
