The NBA has issued a $25,000 fine to Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks for making a lewd gesture during Thursday’s game against the Indiana Pacers, the league confirmed Friday.
According to the NBA’s statement, the incident took place late in the second quarter of Phoenix’s lopsided victory over Indiana. Despite the infraction, Brooks turned in his best performance since joining the Suns, scoring a season-high 32 points on 12-of-18 shooting in just 28 minutes.
Brooks, 29, is in the third year of a four-year, $86 million contract. The former Oregon standout arrived in Phoenix this past summer as part of the Kevin Durant trade that sent him from Houston to the Suns. Over his nine NBA seasons, the Canadian forward has faced multiple fines and suspensions.
