NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki said the Dallas Mavericks should have parted ways with general manager Nico Harrison sooner, calling Harrison’s tenure a “black cloud” over the organization.
The future Hall of Famer made the remark in comments published Friday, the same day news of Harrison’s firing became public. Nowitzki, who spent his entire 21-year career with the Mavericks, did not mince words about the timing of the decision, stating the front office move “probably should’ve happened long ago.”
Harrison, hired in 2021, oversaw three full seasons before the franchise opted for a change. Details of the team’s next steps were not disclosed at the time of publication.
