The New Orleans Pelicans announced Thursday that forward Zion Williamson has been cleared for full-contact, on-court basketball activities.
Williamson, 25, has missed the past five games after sustaining a Grade 1 left hamstring strain on Nov. 4. Through nine appearances this season, he is averaging 22.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.0 steals.
The Pelicans have opened the season 2-9 and have dropped three straight contests without Williamson and guard Jordan Poole, who is sidelined with a left quad strain. Guard Dejounte Murray also remains out as he continues to recover from the torn Achilles he suffered late last January.
