Free-agent shooter Matt Ryan is close to signing with Dubai Basketball Club, according to BasketNews.com. The 6-foot-6 wing, 28, spent most of last season with the New York Knicks but appeared in only 19 brief outings, averaging 3.6 minutes. After joining the Knicks on an Exhibit 10 contract in September, he was waived before the 2025-26 campaign began. Because he now has four years of NBA service, Ryan no longer qualifies for a two-way deal. Dubai BC is making its EuroLeague debut this season and already fields several former NBA players.
Elsewhere in Europe, veteran guard Spencer Dinwiddie has landed with Bayern Munich after being released by the Charlotte Hornets this fall. Speaking to BasketEurope, Dinwiddie said the move reflects the rising profile of the EuroLeague. “Everybody is realizing there is another very high-level basketball league in the world,” he noted, adding that the competition allows players to “keep chasing our dreams.”
Four-time NBA champion Tony Parker has agreed to coach France’s under-17 men’s national team. The Hall of Famer told Andscape he was inspired by a list of goals his late father wrote for him, which included coaching both in the NBA and with the national team. Parker said returning to the bench will let him recapture the “adrenaline” of game days while giving back to French basketball.
Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos has reached a rest-of-season agreement with 35-year-old forward Kenneth Faried. The club moved quickly after injuries to Mathias Lessort, Richaun Holmes and Omer Yurtseven, buying Faried out of his contract in Taiwan. Head coach Ergin Ataman told reporters the deal will be finalized once the veteran passes his physical.
