Cam Thomas Leaves Game With New Left Hamstring Setback

Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas exited Wednesday night’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers in the first quarter after aggravating the same left hamstring that sidelined him for most of last season.

The 24-year-old appeared to tweak the hamstring while coming down from a jump shot. He walked to the locker room on his own but did not return. The team initially listed the issue as “left hamstring tightness.” Brooklyn held on to win without him.

Thomas hurt the same hamstring three separate times during the 2024/25 campaign and was limited to 25 games. Over the summer he accepted his $6 million qualifying offer, keeping him under contract through 2025/26 and positioning him for unrestricted free agency in 2026.

Head coach Jordi Fernández said Thomas will undergo further evaluation on Thursday. “He’s doing good. We’ll reevaluate Thursday,” Fernández told reporters. “This team needs his aggressiveness… His health is the No. 1 priority for us.”
