Star guard Devin Booker said he plans to remain with the Phoenix Suns for the duration of his NBA career, reaffirming his long-term commitment during an interview with Nick Friedell of The Athletic.

Booker, now in his 11th season and recently turned 29, praised the idea of one elite player spending an entire career in a single city, pointing to Stephen Curry’s tenure with the Golden State Warriors as an example. “I don’t think he’s going anywhere, and I don’t think I am either,” Booker said.

Phoenix’s roster has changed significantly since a high-profile experiment with Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. Durant is now with the Houston Rockets and Beal plays for the Los Angeles Clippers, leaving Booker as the Suns’ central figure.

The three-time All-Star signed a two-year, $145 million extension this summer that keeps him under contract through the 2029/30 season. Booker said he embraces the responsibility that comes with leading a franchise. “It’s a lot of pride, it’s a lot of responsibility,” he noted, adding that he wants to guide younger teammates and recapture the energy the city felt during Phoenix’s recent deep postseason runs.

Reflecting on his arrival in 2015, Booker said, “I was adopted as an 18-year-old coming in. I was embraced through tough times, all the way to making a Finals run. The city watched me grow up.”
