NEW YORK — Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has been authorized to participate in full-contact drills but remains sidelined for games as he continues to recover from a right hamstring strain suffered last week.

The Timberwolves said Monday that the three-time All-Star will not dress against the Brooklyn Nets, marking his fourth consecutive absence. Edwards was hurt roughly three minutes into Minnesota’s home opener against the Indiana Pacers on Oct. 26.

According to the team, the 24-year-old guard is progressing through his rehabilitation program but has not reached the final benchmark required for in-game clearance. Minnesota’s upcoming itinerary includes a visit to the New York Knicks on Wednesday, a home matchup with the Utah Jazz on Friday, and back-to-back road contests at the Sacramento Kings on Sunday and the Jazz next Monday.

Now in his sixth NBA season, Edwards has never missed more than three games in a single campaign; he appeared in 72 of 82 contests during the 2021-22 season.
