The Golden State Warriors have exercised guard Brandin Podziemski’s fourth-year rookie-scale option, locking in his $5,679,458 salary for the 2026/27 season, the club announced on Thursday.
The decision, finalized ahead of the Oct. 31 deadline for rookie-scale contracts, keeps the 22-year-old under team control through the end of his original four-year deal. Podziemski will become eligible to negotiate a rookie-scale extension during the 2026 offseason and would enter restricted free agency in 2027 if no new pact is reached.
Selected 19th overall in the 2023 draft out of Santa Clara, Podziemski has been a steady part of head coach Steve Kerr’s rotation. Last season he appeared in 64 games, averaging 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists across 26.8 minutes while shooting .445 from the field, .372 from three-point range and .758 at the foul line. Through five games this year, he is posting 12.2 points per contest and converting 42.3% of his attempts from beyond the arc, including three starts.
Podziemski is one of six Warriors with 2026/27 option clauses, but the only player on a rookie-scale contract. Player options for Draymond Green, Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton, along with team options for Jonathan Kuminga and Trayce Jackson-Davis, do not require decisions until June.
