The Indiana Pacers are set to sign guard Mac McClung to a non-guaranteed multiyear contract on Monday, agent Greg Lawrence told ESPN.

To clear a roster spot, the team intends to waive center James Wiseman, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 draft, according to league sources.

The agreement gives McClung, the NBA dunk contest’s first three-peat champion, his first standard NBA contract after stints on training-camp and two-way deals dating back to 2021. The 26-year-old most recently spent time with the Orlando Magic and has logged six NBA appearances.

Wiseman, 24, had just returned from the Achilles tear he sustained in last season’s opener. He started in last week’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies and played 20 minutes.

Indiana’s backcourt and wing depth has been hit by injuries. Andrew Nembhard, Bennedict Mathurin and Obi Toppin are listed as day-to-day, while point guard T.J. McConnell is rehabbing a preseason hamstring strain. All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton is out for the season after tearing his Achilles.

McClung is expected to join the Pacers this week once the transaction becomes official.
